Barack Obama’s War is Just…

Posted in War with tags , , , , on February 19, 2009 by Mike Shaw

This isn’t really a blog entry about my disdain for the new President, rather an open thought that needs to be poured out onto this here cyber page.  I keep asking myself about Obama’s war strategy.

I could be mistaken, but wasn’t “getting out of war” a big part of Obama’s campaign?  So, Obama has sent more troops into Afghanistan, and as a conservative I agree with this move because the war(s) in the Middle East need to be won.  So congrats Mr. Obama on making me happy for once, but can I ask you a question?  Why so shady?

Instead of getting on TV and doing one of your favorite things in this whole world, hearing yourself talk, you decide to make the announcement on a measley piece of paper.  Unlike George W. Bush who had (insert your favorite phrase here) you decide to announce it in writing right after signing your porkulous package (another story coming about this pile of crap).  You hoped, and succeeded, that the pork package would shadow this whole troop thing.

I just feel like ranting about something I agree with, but it was the way you went about it.  You coniving little twit.  How dare you criticize the 43rd President, whom we aren’t allowed to speak of for fear of persecution, about his stances on war and you go off and continue it.

Grow a pair.  The end.

Obama: Mistakes Continued

Want to see Barack Obama’s untimely mistakes all in one place?  Here you go.  For your viewing pleasure, I present O-crap I screwed up.

Also, please take note of what Obama says during the “Face the Nation” interview.  He says something to the affect of working with foreign leaders for the “…next 8 to 10 years…”  What’s that supposed to mean?

Great Minds Think Alike: Rush Limbaugh

Day Two:  I have been trying to be “respectful” to Mr. Obama in the most recent of days.  I was able to attend the inauguration on January 20th and was harboring mixed emotions.  I was proud that I was a part of history, but at the same time I was sad for what the next four years might have for us.  Below, Rush Limbaugh says exactly how I feel.  Thanks to my good friend Meredith for sending me this link!

Barry Soetoro?

What is Barack Hussein Obama’s real name?  Barry Soetoro?  I don’t know, but he needs to figure it out before he’s sworn in.  Can anyone come up with the man’s birth certificate?  Don’t even mention the one he uploaded to his site, because it was proven to be forged.  Here’s an interesting video:

Corruption on the Left

Well-known Democrat/Independent Joe Lieberman is facing a daunting decision in the next couple of days.  Lieberman is a great man.  I bet you can’t believe that I said a Democrat was a great man, but there are firsts for everything.  Lieberman is famous for being a Democrat.  However, when he was defeated as a Democrat, he quickly became an Independent in 2006.  Lieberman has always been famous, but in the next couple of days I imagine we will be hearing a lot more about him.

During the 2008 election he openly campaigned for John McCain.  No big deal, right?  Well, in case you have been living under a rock John McCain was the presidential nominee for the Republican party.  Lieberman openly spoke against Barack Obama and his party of Democrats.  It was an inspiring thing to see as a man crossed the aisle to better his country.  At least, that’s how many saw it.

McCain and LiebermanToday Lieberman met with Majority Leader Harry Reid.  Reid was angry and questioned Lieberman’s allegiance to the Democrat party.  Worse, it has been rumored the Reid plans to remove Lieberman as chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.  Reid said, “While I understand that Sen. Lieberman has voted with Democrats a majority of the time, his comments and actions have raised serious concerns among many in our caucus.”

This bothers me a great deal.  Why do Democrats think that this is ok?  This in itself is a form of harassment.  Any politician in the near future who plans to campaign across the aisle for a friend who he feels is the best choice for America will shy away from doing so for fear of losing his status.  This is black-mail and I do not see how Reid can get away with this.

I give kudos to Lieberman who was doing what he felt was in the best interest of his country, and I encourage him to stand up for this form of corruption that is rearing its ugly head.

“Vote Early and Vote Often.” -Al Capone.

My election day has been a busy one.  However, it’s not as busy as any other day by any means.  I went to my local polling place and cast my ballot for CHANGE.  Don’t be shocked.  I didn’t cave in at the last minute.  I voted for REAL CHANGE.  I voted for John McCain!  After I voted for America’s next leader I came home and eagerly listened and watched anything that I could about the election.

Living in Charlotte, North Carolina I am blessed to have one of the greatest local political talk radio stations around.  WBT 1110 AM.  Featuring local show hosts like Jeff Katz, John Hancock, Al Gardner, and Keith Larson.  I heard something that disturbed me today.  A woman called in and said that she was an early voter, but she wanted to “test the system” and see if she could vote again.  She went to her local polling place and voted a second time.  She was allowed to vote again.  As she told the show host he was in disbelief.  He was in disbelief in more than one way.  He was shocked that she was allowed to vote twice, but he was even more shocked about the fact that she would take advantage of the situation.  What’s even more horrifying was while she was talking on the radio show her young son asked in the background, “Mom, you voted twice?  You broke the law?”  Indeed it was terrible.

The reason why I bring this up, is because there are several men and women out there who aren’t as honest as this woman was.  They are several people who will vote more than once in this election.  The audacity (not an Obama reference) of Americans these days.

Let’s play fair and keep it right.  Vote, but don’t vote like Al Capone.  Vote once and make it count!

Barack Obama’s Grandmother Dies at 86

Posted in Election 2008 with tags , , , , on November 3, 2008 by Mike Shaw

It is a sad day for Senator Barack Obama as he has learned that his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died after a prolonged battle with cancer.  She was diagnosed with cancer in 1995 at age 53.

In a press conference earlier today Obama released a statement saying, “She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility. She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances,.”

No matter your feelings about Obama, you know that he must be dealing with a lot right now.  He is in my hometown right now of Charlotte, North Carolina on the campus of UNCC.  Just passing along some new information!
